Demos slots of MP2 for Thursday have been rescheduled to next week
11/14/19 1:24 AM
Hi all,

I have to cancel the demo slots for tomorrow as I have some other research commitments. I have two slots opened for next Tuesday and Thursday. I will reschedule my office hours as well.

All of you who still have to show me the demo of MP2 please pick slot using the excel sheet provided below.

It would be great if all of you can schedule the slots either on Thursday or Tuesday. This will save me some time.

Please Come Prepared With Answers to the Questions Below In Next Lecture
11/10/19 7:17 PM
Dear all,

The MP3 is about improving the software design of the MP2 to make it more robust.

During the upcoming MP3 discussion on Tuesday, I and Professor Tarek would like that every team comes prepared with the informal answers to the questions below about the MP2.

Each team will be given 5 mins to present answers to the questions.

Based on the answers from each team we will discuss what is good/bad design.

We can then collectively pick three best designs.

The main goal of this exercise/discussion is to learn from each other.

1. What did your team regarded as safety-critical, mission-critical, and performance-optimization requirements respectively?

2. How did your team make sure that tasks and resources are prioritized according to the criticality level of the requirements they support?

3. Did they ensure that dependencies are well-formed (less critical stuff should not interfere with more critical stuff)? How?

4. Did your team enforce isolation between tasks supporting different requirements? How?

5. How did your team do in the lab?

6. What were the key lessons your team learned from the implementation?

Thanks

Professor has answered some of your concerns here:

1. The computer is allowed, but interaction with other people (including online) is not allowed.

2. No, the midterm is not cumulative. That’s why the review was not cumulative.

3. Solutions will be posted online tomorrow.
