This course explores fundamental principles for securing IT systems with hands-on experiments. This course includes security principles, virtual envi- ronments, and network services, core security principles of authentication and access control, web application security, certificates and public-key cryptog- raphy, and risk management.

As promised, I have posted a very detailed review for the final.

It tells you the date and time of the final, the topics covered (textbook and testout) and example of questions.

I will be in my office monday and tuesday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm to answer any questions.

I will try to post the videos for chapter 7 of the textbook tomorrow night. You really do not need the video but since I promised I will covered chapter 7 in the video.

I will not be answering emails during the weekend.

For next class:

1) Do again the activities covered on April 22, 2014. A link to the video will be posted shortly tonight. I will send out a message when it is available.

2) Mallet has the password cracker john the ripper. I will provide a file next class with passwords so you can crack. Make sure you read a tutorial or a youtube video on how to use john the ripper.

3) Go over section section 6.4.4 of the book. You should be able to do it by yoursefl.

4) Read about section 6.6.1 and 6.6.2, it describes cross site scripting. 

What are the similarities and differences between:

a) Remote Command execution vulnerability

b) SQL injection

c) cross site scripting
