I have sent emails to all students with Honor Code violations. If you received a grade of J but did not receive an email, please send me an email ASAP to ensure I have your current email address.
Letter grades posted
12/23/14 3:35 AM
CMSC 330 Letter grades have been posted on the grades server and submitted to UMEG.

Grade distribution is about 20-25% As, 25-30% Bs, 30-35% Cs.

Sorry for the delay. I had to examine a large number of Honor Code violations.

If you received a grade of J, it means that I believe you have violated the Code of Academic Integrity. I will send you an email by tomorrow describing your options.
Final exam scores posted
12/16/14 9:01 PM

Scores from final exam should not be visible on the grades server.

I won't get around to assigning grades until this weekend, waiting for some students to complete their Good Faith Attempts for past projects. So please don't ask me about your course grade.

As stated in the previous post, I won't be able to show exams to anyone before  break. Check next semester.

Final exam
12/14/14 12:00 PM

A reminder that the CMSC 330 final exam is Monday, Dec 15, 4-6pm in CHEM 1407.

The exam will mostly (80+%) go over new material not covered by previous midterms (e.g., multithreading, Prolog, lambda calculus, etc.), though there will be some questions on Ruby, OCaml, and operational semantics.

For the Ruby multithreading programming question, you are given the sequential Ruby code. All you need to do is figure out how to efficiently execute the code using threads, adding synchronization and using conditional variables where necessary.

Any lambda calculus encodings needed will be provided.

Good Faith Attempt
12/14/14 11:54 AM
Just a reminder that the Good Faith Attempt requirement for passing this course is to get at least 20 points from public/release/secret tests for each project. I will give students until Thu Dec 18th to pass this requirement.
