Description

Introduction of mathematical and computational methods to model physiological systems in biomedical engineering. Mathematical methods include solution techniques for systems of algebraic equations, systems of differential, and partial differential equations. Computational methods include finite difference, finite element, and lumped parameter methods. Computational methods are programmed using commercial programming and finite element software.

HW 10 and class grades
5/01/13 10:50 AM
Just a reminder to hand in homework 10 during class time on Friday. I will be in my office (CBIS 4213) during that time.

Also, please bring your laptop to class next Tuesday. I will have the grades and cut-offs for you then. I will not be mailing them in an e-mail or give them to you if you come to my office hours. If you want to know your overall grade then you need to show up for class.
Class on 04/25
4/25/13 1:37 PM
I have not been able to move my ABET meeting and therefore I will not be in class tomorrow (Friday, 04/25). One of my graduate students will be there to collect the homeworks. Please show at 10am and drop off the homework next to the overhead projector. You are welcome to leave after you have handed in the homework.

Exam 2
3/26/13 8:09 PM
Exam 2 has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 9th.
Revised version of Homework 5 has been posted.
3/08/13 1:09 PM
We simplified the first problem from homework 5. You are asked to do the same work as before, but this one has fewer data points and is less involved to solve. Since no one seems to have started the homework, it seemed appropriate to post a modification now.

Due date: Mar 22, 2013

You can view it on the course page: https://piazza.com/rpi/spring2013/bmed2200/resources

Enjoy the break.

Midterm Course Evaluations
3/02/13 11:16 AM
I am passing the e-mail that I have received regarding midterm course evaluations along:

Midterm Course Evaluation opened March 1st and runs through 11:59 PM (Central) on Sunday March 10. Reports will be available to faculty at 12:01 AM (Central) on Monday, March 11. Please encourage your students to complete midterm course evaluations this week. Students receive email from info@digitalmeasures.com at the start of data collection with reminders every three days, if any of their surveys remain incomplete. These messages contain the login URL which is https://www.digitalmeasures.com/login/rpi/student. Students may also use the RPInfo (http://rpinfo.rpi.edu) link to DigitalMeasures under Faculty & Staff. The system will recognize their rcsids as students’ and direct them to their course evaluations.
Exam 1 Date
2/22/13 11:46 AM
The first exam has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 during class.
Corrected Version of Homework #2 Has Been Uploaded
2/05/13 7:50 PM
There was a mistake in problem 1 of the homework and some of the other problems built on it. I have corrected the homework, deleted the old version and uploaded the new one. I have also extended the due date to Friday next week (not because the homework got any longer, but because it is my fault that the original homework did not work out). This one definitely works as I have gone through it in detail.
